Chrysler 300 Club International
Spring Meet in Holland, MI

May, 2016

Our 2016 spring meet was held in Holland, MI. A huge thanks to Keith and Judy Boonstra for hosting a wonderful Meet. There were many activities and events to enjoy, and from reports from the attendees, indeed they did enjoy the activities. An Orientation Meeting on Wednesday night to acquaint the early arrivals with details about the Meet.

Thursday featured a tour of Windmill Island, a guided tour of Zeeland Architectural Components and a visit to the VerHage Mopar Museum which had a selection of vintage Chrysler Products.

Friday featured a photo op at the Felt Mansion which was followed by lunch along the waterfront in downtown Saugatuck. Friday evening featured a dinner boat cruise on Lake Macatawa.

On Saturday, the car show was held on the grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum. This was not just a building with cars on display. It is really a restored village style museum with many buildings that looked like old time car dealerships. It also has several eating places and other nostalgic collections. The weather was perfect.

After spending a delightful day at the Gilmore Museum, we drove back to the hotel for the banquet. Aside from the usual People's Choice awards, a special Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Gil Cunningham, a co-founder of Chrysler 300 Club International. This was the first ever of these awards presented by our Club. Tributes were paid to Gil by Don Warnaar, Jeff Miklas and Terry McTaggart. Gil, a man of few words, accepted the award, standing with his wife Carol, and accompanied by a large contingent of his family at the dinner table.
