The
Chrysler Cup
The
Chrysler Cup was given to the club by Chrysler Corporation in 1977.
It is the highest award we have; it is our "best of
show". In the last 50 years, the cup has been awarded only
sixteen times.
It is a
perpetual trophy -- it is passed from the previous winner to the
next. Each winner has their name recorded on the base. According to
the original rules, the cup would be awarded if the car won a first
and scored over 900 points in two concours outings. In recent years
we relaxed the requirement for two concours outings.
The
Chrysler Cup was first awarded to Don Warnaar at the Fall Meet in Ann
Arbor, MI of 1977. Randy Guyer was the last winner with his black F
convertible at the 2019 Minnesota meet. In 2022 Gil Cunningham passed
away and in recognition of his life long contributions to the club, we renamed it the
Cunningham Cup.
