The Chrysler Cup

Chrysler 300 Club Concours d'elegance

- PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES FOR ENTRANTS AND JUDGES -

1. Chrysler 300 letter series cars (1955 thru 1965) only are eligible for concours, competition and awards. Entries must be owned by members of the Chrysler 300 Club International, Inc.

2. Entrants must complete requested information at top of the judging form and place form under windshield wiper. After judging is concluded, the form will be picked up.

3. The owner, entrant, or designated representative must remain with the car until judging has been complete. Judges cannot assume proper operation of vehicle components and will deduct points accordingly if no responsible person is present when required.

4. During their inspection, judges are obligated to avoid any careless procedures which could result in damage to a valuable automobile. In most cases, the entrant should be asked to operated the various vehicle accessories.

5. The burden of proof that any non-authentic appearing items (i.e.: special paint, unavailable accessories, etc.) were originally on his car rests with the entrant. If inadequate or no evidence of authenticity can be presented, the appropriate points will be deducted.

6. Entrants should not engage in unnecessarily lengthy conversation with judges. Restraint in this area will speed the judging process and reduce any semblance of partiality.

7. Judges will not be permitted to judge their own car if it is in competition for an award or seniors qualification. Every attempt will be made, however, to assign judges in classes in which their car is not competing.

8. First place awards will be presented to junior division cars achieving the highest scores in each of the four classes, providing that score is at least 800 points. Second place will be awarded in each of the four classes providing a score of at least 750 points is attained. Blue ribbons will be given all cars scoring at least 750 points, but which were not awarded first or second place.

The senior division winner will be awarded a best of show trophy donated by Chrysler Corporation. This trophy will be relinquished when a different best of show winner is determined, to be replaced with a small permanent award. All winner's names will be inscribed on the traveling trophy.

9. Cars achieving the combination of 900 or more points at one meet and first place in their class at another meet will be placed in senior division. Only one award will be given in senior division; best of show. Best of show winners will remain eligible for the same award at succeeding meets. Senior division cars will not be permitted to return to junior division competition.

10. Cars receiving first place awards in their classes are not eligible for any award at the next two (2) nationally sanctioned concours. They may, however, be judged at such meets to provide the owner with information which can be beneficial in preparation for future concours events or to obtain point qualification for seniors division.

11. Concourse participants having questions or grievances should contact G. Cunningham or D. DeButts or G. Riehl. These three will then confer with the affected judge (as well as others, if necessary) and reach a determination. It is recommended the contact be made as expeditiously as possible so any potential point changes can be reflect in the final score to awards presentation.

12. Any constructive criticism concerning the judging form and procedure is appreciated and, in fact, solicited. Please present comments in writing to the judging committee chairperson.
