News
Our main photo is the 300E of Ron Kurtz. This beauty has been a multi-year restoration which Ron has documented in previous issues of the ENews. We will have his write up on the completion of this project in a future issue.
Crimeny it has been a cold winter in little old Auburn and for much of the US. Seems to me that is a good enough reason to get away to the warm climate of Asheville this spring. Let's go visit Heath -- might as well make your travel plans now.

I was looking for the air filter elements used on the football air cleaners D, E, and H. I saw a note in the old Enews issues that K&N E1959 would fit. It has been discontinued without replacement. AC A84C, Fram CA163PL, Purolator AFP15, WIX 42042 are listed as replacements but I did not find any. Nick Taylor says Matt Allyn had a round air filter element (Fram CA184, $5.99/ea) squashed to fit his 300H air cleaners. They are easy to squeeze into the oval shape but it is a tight fit. Squeeze it into the lid of the air cleaner first; it needs to fit all the way into the recess in the top. Then put the base on and work the filter to fit in there. Once it's done, it looks pretty good and when bolted to the carb, it's not going anywhere. Here is a link to pictures.
Bob Hayen writes: I made a fixture that held the tall Wix filter so it could be cut off in a band saw. The shortened piece was put into a mold for the raw edge. Quirey sells these, talk to Todd.

Nick Taylor writes: A friend with a 300G was having a problem with their odometer. I sent him one out of a spare 1960 cluster, thinking they were the same. Turns out they aren't. In this picture, the 1960 version is at the bottom with the 1961 above. I don't know about 1962 ones. The font is different but so is the design of it to where they won't exchange.

Carl Bilter writes: My 62 is a western car and had California plates from 1967. It also had plate surrounds from Max Barish who was a well known Chrysler dealer in the 50s and 60s. I had a minute and gave them some attention with these results:
